Great news, great guy. Ideal guy to come off the bench for the D's next year.

It's nice to see someone who actually wants to be here. Battie also see's the potential our young players have and wants to be a part of it and shows that it isn't always about the money. (even though it isn't exactly chump change he's getting paid). You can't put a dollar amount veteran leadership and locker room demeaner, so this seams to be a good deal for everyone involved.

Not a bad deal for the Magic. He turned 30 in February so will be 34 at the end of the contract. It looks like he keeps the same average salary as this year, so it shouldn't hurt the Magic cap planning for the next 3 years.

Still wish he'd stop taking Darkos minutes at the end of this lost season.

Nice move by the Magic re-signing Battie. He will be valuable coming off the bench, and will serve as kind of a mentor to the young players.

It must be nice to take a "pay cut" and still make between 4 and 5 million a year. Nice that Battie wants to stay here instead of accepting more money to play elsewhere.

Good news and good signing. However, Batiie's value is just about in that range, and it is wise of him to take the sure contract rather than going in the free market and risk ending up with less.

I think we all agree that it was smart for both sides!
