Magic look to keep hot streak going against struggling TOR

The resurgent Magic, 33-44 and 24-14 at home, will try to increase their winning streak to 6 games against TOR, 26-52 and 12-27 on the road. TOR has lost 9 games in a row. Fortunately, the Magic won't have to worry about the injured Chris Bosh, who will sit out for the remainder of the season.

TOR is led by Mike James, who averages 20.1 ppg (43.9% 3 pt %). He has scored 32 or more pts in 4 consecutive games while shooting 54.2% during that time. Morris Peterson (16.4 ppg) and rookie Charlie Villanueva (12.7 ppg) are the only other Raptors in double figures. TOR averages 101.1 ppg and allows 103.6 ppg. The Magic average 94.7 ppg and allow 96 ppg. During their 9 game losing streak, TOR has allowed 112.6 ppg.

The Magic will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, and prevent a TOR sweep of the Magic this season. The way the Magic have been playing, they should have no problems, as they should easily top the 100 pt mark and shoot 50%+, going for their 11th home win in a row. The Magic are solid 9 1/2 pt favorites (www.pinnaclesports.com).

Bad news... CHI, w/o Luol Deng and Chris Duhon, beat NJ last night. You had a feeling Skiles would have his team ready after their dreadful performance against PHI. Both CHI and PHI are 3 games ahead of the Magic. The Magic's "tragic number" to being eliminated from playoff contention remains at 3.

The Magic have to go no worse than 5-1 the rest of the way and hope that both CHI and PHI can win only a game apiece. Even if the Magic can run the table, the Bulls have a very good shot at winning three games. The Magic need ATL to upset the Bulls tonight, and for NJ to take care of PHI.

As long as we dont turnover the ball, the magic should get their first victory over the raptors this season,it could actually turn into a runaway late,so hopefully the magic will keep their poise as they have been, and take care of business playing "our game"! And rarely do i agree with mike bianchi, but great piece on otis, stayed pretty much with the facts and not a whole lot of opinion, like we all said yesterday otis deffinitely deserves the job! And "arroyo the rock star?",i cant beleive so many good things are going for the magic all at the same time, after 4 teams passed on him foolishly, carlos deserves everything good he gets here in Orlando, hopefully he's here for a long time!
