Trade deadline passes quietly for Magic
Just as GM Otis Smith had been predicting for the last week or so, the Magic did not make any moves at the trade deadline and will finish the rest of the season with this roster; Tony Battie may be activated for the playoffs depending on his recovery, but other than that, no changes.
There was a big 11-man, three team trade made involving two teams from the East, CHI and CLE, and SEA from the West. CLE gets Ben Wallace and Joe Smith from CHI, along with Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West from SEA. CHI gets Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons, and Shannon Brown from CLE. SEA gets Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall from CLE, and Adrian Griffin from CHI.

Comment from Otis Smith: "You have to ask yourself, 'is there something out there that could make us better?' The answer was no, so I'm not disappointed at all. I like what we have right now."

Kurt Thomas for carlos and pat was the only thing that made since for us but oh well, with battie being activated for the playoffs isnt that the same thing anyway? Boy cleveland is going to be way different and im not so sure it'll be better, drew gooden hit alot of big jumpers from baseline that ben wont even attempt.
