Howard puts on amazing show to win Slam-Dunk title

With four of the most athletic, creative, and powerful slam dunks in the history of the competition, Dwight Howard stole the show and easily defeated MIN's Gerald Green, the defending slam-dunk champion, in the final round of the Slam-Dunk competition SAT night to become the new Slam-Dunk champion. TOR's Jamario Moon and MEM's Rudy Gay were eliminated in the first round.

It wasnt the best slam dunk "CONTEST" ever (jordan vs. nique best contest),but it was the best individual performance in all-star history. Vince Carter had that honor until last night, but Dwight "Super" Howard is in a league all his own now. The dunks that dwight performed i dont beleive anybody else on the planet can do,i mean c'mon, the volleyball lobbed-catch it in the air off the backboard with left hand-dunk it hard with right hand-dunk, was something out of a video game, you hear kenny smith say "OMG im leaving, its over"...LOL. All the dunks were just ridiculous, dwight turned the night into the dwight howard dunk invitational before it was over. And what irony that the magic wears blue which perfectly matches superman's uniform,a superman shirt and cape with magic shorts never looked so good, plus the line of the night was when kenny smith said right before commercial "superman wishes he was built like dwight howard" was classic. Im actually glad he didnt do the kiss-the-rim dunk because with youtube everybody's already seen it,mike was right on point with his predictions (with a little help from the sentinel). Boy dwight just raised the bar really high for future contests.

You could probably flip a coin to determine which dunk was the most impressive; they were all dunks which no one has attempted before, and they were all awesome. Howard just might be the only person on the planet right now who could successfully make those dunks; they all seemed to defy gravity. On his "Superman" dunk, he got so high in the air he was able to "throw" the ball in.

And to think he's only 22 and just starting to scratch the surface of his potential! I think his performance against the Nuggets right before the break and SAT night's performance will make for a fantastic final two months of the season for Dwight and the Magic!

You gotta love Dwight. He's the man. He gives you so much entertainment. I feel like the torch for providing the NBA with humor and entertainment is being passed from Shaq to Dwight.

All the dunks Dwight did were great, and he made them look easy.

Even more impressive was the fact that all for of his dunks were new, and had never been done before. Who would have thought that to be possible in 2008?

I still think "the superman" stole the entire show. It really looked like he jumped off of a trampoline. It just didn't look real.

As for an individual performance, his is now my favorite. Not only was his original, creative, and amazing, but I just can't see anyone ever duplicating what he did.

This All-Star weekend 2008, the entire world is being introduced to Dwight Howard the superstar.

It feels good to be a Magic fan.
