Magic begin tough road stretch at IND FRI night
IND is lead in scoring by O'Neal, at 19.2 ppg. Newly signed free agent Harrington averages 16.5 ppg. Sarunas Jasikevicius averages 11.5 ppg, with Stephen Jackson at 11.4 ppg. Reserves of note include Danny Granger at 9.4 ppg, and former Magic G Darrell Armstrong with 9.0 ppg on superb 59.3% FG shooting, including 58.8% on 3 pt FG. GHIll leads the Magic with 16.0 ppg, followed by CArroyo at 15.5 ppg. Through 5 games, IND is averaging 98.8 ppg and allowing 99.4 ppg. ORL is averaging 97.6 ppg and allowing 96.8 ppg.
The Magic must cut down on their 21.4 turnovers per game if they are to have long-term success. They also must produce victories on the road to prove that they are for real. Even though Magic have had their struggles in many areas, they are still 3-2, but with lots of room for improvement. Dwight must pick up his offensive game, and Jameer needs to take better care of the ball, or Carlos will start to see the majority of playing time at PG, as he has shown he deserves it. And yes, we need to see more of Darko paired with Dwight.
