The week ahead for the Magic

The Orlando Magic begin this week at 29-15 (16-4 home, 13-11 road), tied for first in the SE with Atlanta (28-14), but trail the Hawks by mere percentage points, and are the fourth seed in the East. The Magic trail number two seed Boston (28-13) by 1/2 game, and number one seed Cleveland (34-11) by 4 1/2 games. Last season after 44 games, the Magic were 34-10.

The Magic are averaging 101.3 ppg (9th in the NBA) and are allowing 96.2 ppg (7th in the NBA).

The Magic play four games this coming week:

Monday, Jan. 25th: at Memphis (23-19, 16-5 home) Grizzlies are one of the more surprising teams in the NBA. Grizzlies are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Thursday, Jan. 28th: Boston (28-13, 16-6 road) Celtics continue to have injury problems with key players. Celtics are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Saturday, Jan. 30th: Atlanta (28-14, 10-9 road) Hawks will try to prove they can hang with the Magic after two big losses earlier to them. Hawks are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Sunday, Jan. 31st: at Detroit (15-28, 11-11 home) The Magic's nemesis have had their struggles this season, due to injuries and inconsistency. Pistons are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

The Magic are coming off an impressive 3-1 week, their best week in over a month. They have 3 tough games this week, and everyone knows how tough the Pistons play the Magic, no matter how badly the Pistons may be playing.

The Magic would do well to finish 3-1 with this week's games.

Gonna be tough but the magic can do it. Memphis will be a tough guard on the perimeter tonight, the guys need to be ready defensively. This might be the toughest game out of the four seeing as how we match up well with the celts and hawks. Detroit plays us well, but at some point the magic will turn that corner with rasheed and chauncey gone. The magic just need to feed the horse and let him lead the way defensively! lets go 4-0!

It was very encouraging to see the emergence of D12, Jameer Nelson, and Vince Carter this last week; hopefully it continues!
