Game night preview

ORLANDO MAGIC at INDIANA PACERS

Tuesday, Jan. 5. 7:00 p.m Conseco Fieldhouse
Indianapolis, IN

The Orlando Magic (24-9, 11-6 road)) close out their three-game road trip on Tuesday when they visit the Indiana Pacers (10-23, 7-9 home)) at 7 p.m. ET. Orlando has struggled over the past four games to find ways to get All-Star center Dwight Howard consistently involved in the team's offensive game plan. Howard has been held to single digits in scoring in three of their past four contests, posting a season-low five points against the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. "We've got to be clearer about when to get it inside," Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy explained. "And get better balance on our inside-outside game." The Magic have a good opportunity to get that situation rectified against the Pacers. In their only meeting with Indiana this season, Orlando notched a 106-98 home victory, in a big part to due to Howard. The Magic's superstar center erupted for 21 points, a season-high 23 rebounds and four blocked shots as Orlando controlled the interior on their way to a triumph on December 14.
"Dwight is an All-Star," Pacers center Roy Hibbert said after their first meeting. "Hopefully I can get my game to his level." Still even with his tremendous success against Indiana, Howard isn't taking the Pacers lightly. "You can't underestimate Indiana," Howard explained on Monday. "They play extremely hard all the time."

The Magic are 11 point favorites.

This is the game where D12 should get back on track offensively against the woeful Pacers; the Pacers only gave up 132 points and lost by 43 points to the Knicks Sunday.
