Game day preview

ORLANDO MAGIC vs. BOSTON CELTICS
Friday, Dec. 25. 2:30 p.m. ABC
Amway Arena
Orlando, FL

The national spotlight will shine on Orlando when the Magic (22-7, 12-2 home) host the Boston Celtics (22-5, 12-1 road) in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference Semifinals on Christmas at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Magic already proved they could beat the Celtics with or without Kevin Garnett on November 20, when they earned an 83-78 victory in Boston. Orlando’s biggest offseason acquisition Vince Carter poured in a game-high 26 points in that contest, while All-Star forward Rashard Lewis notched 16 points and 10 rebounds. Since that contest, the Celtics have been on a tear. They’ve gone 13-1 in that time frame and currently lead the Eastern Conference with a 22-5 record. Points will once again be at a premium for the Magic as Boston holds its opponents to a league-low 92.0 points per game.

Note: Boston SF Paul Pierce will be out of action for at least two weeks with a right knee infection.

Here is the complete preview from Yahoo! Sports.

The Magic are 5 point favorites.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

Not having Paul Pierce is a big loss for Boston, but the Celtics still have Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo. Kendrick Perkins usually plays Dwight Howard very well. The Magic better come ready to play and to be prepared for a tough defensive battle.

Hopefully, the Magic can give everyone at Amway Arena a nice Christmas with a victory over the Celtics.
