Game night preview

ORLANDO MAGIC vs. HOUSTON ROCKETS
Wednesday, Dec. 23. 7:00 p.m.
Amway Arena
Orlando, FL

The Orlando Magic (21-7, 11-2 home) continue their homestand on Wednesday when they take on the Houston Rockets (17-11, 9-7 road) at 7 p.m. ET. The Rockets have had their share of adversity this year, losing Yao Ming for the season and playing much of it without star Tracy McGrady. McGrady, a former Magic player and cousin of eight-time All-Star Vince Carter, recently made his return to the court on December 15 and is averaging 1.8 points per game in a limited role that has him playing just eight minutes per contest. “I feel good,” McGrady said after Monday’s practice. “I’m very excited to be back. I’m still trying to knock off the rust, but it’s coming.” Orlando will look to reverse its fortune against Houston, who has claimed 12 of the last 14 regular season meetings with the Magic.

Here is the complete preview from Yahoo! Sports.

The Magic are 8 point favorites.

The Rockets have beaten the Magic 7 straight times in Orlando; the Magic are due to beat them. With Yao Ming out, it'll be easier for D12 to do his normal thing.

Still, it'll be a tough game, but if the Magic are properly prepared and focused, I like their chances of winning.

Tonight we finally get to see our starting line-up with jameer ready to go and getting the start. I'm not really happy with the way MP has played lately so im going to be closely watching him to see if he's contributing. Seems like when he's not really helping the team SVG goes with JJ down the stretch so we'll see. VC is doing everything but making shots and as long as he's playing defense this good, rebounding and getting people involved im ok with his offense bad or good. Rockets are still tough without ming but i expect the magic to rout them.

I fully agree with all the point which Big Figure has raised, particularly with regard to MP; I feel that he is goofing off a bit and his drives to the basket is always an adventure whereby simple dunks or lay-ups turn into unpredictables.

I am concerned with Jameer's injection in the starting line-up; probably, SVG has seen something in the shoot-around that we don't know but he did not look so good the other night.

Regardless, we need a convincing victory heading to the big match-up with BOS.
