Game Day Preview

From the Magic press release earlier in the week:

ORLANDO MAGIC at TORONTO RAPTORS
Sunday, Nov. 1. 1:00 p.m.
Air Canada Centre
Toronto, Ontario

The Orlando Magic will travel to Toronto to battle the Raptors for their final matchup of the week on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be Orlando’s first matchup against former Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu, who was dealt north of the border to Toronto during the offseason. After sitting out Toronto’s first four preseason contests (rest), Turkoglu averaged 8.3 points per game in the Raptors’ final four matchups. He left their last game against the Timberwolves with an ankle injury, but is expected to be back in action for the Raptors’ season opener. While limiting Turkoglu and All-Star forward Chris Bosh will be the Magic’s defensive focus, offensively they’ll look to establish All-Star center Dwight Howard and eight-time All-Star Vince Carter. Howard will get plenty of touches down in the low-post as Orlando looks to the set the tone with its inside-out game. They’ll also put the ball in the hands of Carter, who now replaces Turkoglu as the Magic’s playmaker down the stretch. Carter is no stranger to making big plays, especially in Toronto, where he spent the first seven seasons of his career. “I still enjoy going back to Toronto and playing,” Carter said. “I had many great memories there. So going back there and hearing the boos and all that, it’s wonderful. It makes me play better.”

I'll be watching my beloved Bears today, but I'll be checking out the Magic during the commercials of the Bears' game.

This should be a pretty good game, and it's certainly going to be strange seeing Turk in a different uniform.

I love the makeup of this Magic team though without Turk, and I suspect the Magic will find a way to win this game, Carter or no Carter.

Just a guess on my part, but I think VC will sit out the game and come back Tuesday against the Pistons.
