Magic start off preseason with win over Dallas

Vince Carter led the Magic with 21 points as the Magic, in a foul-filled game called by the new NBA replacement referees, beat the Mavericks 110-105.

    Despite the win, Magic show they need to work on their FT shooting, as Howard barely shot 50% on 17 attempts and Magic as a team shot just over 66%.

    The newcomers off the bench did well... Brandon Bass, Matt Barnes, and Jason Williams (who had a team-leading 6 assists).

    Half the Magic FG attempts were 3 point attempts.

    I guess VC really like SVG's system. 12 3pt attempts in his first game out,bad thing is he only made 3. But for the first game with so many new piece's its always good to get a win.

    Looks like the replacement refs are going to be calling things pretty tight, as evidenced by this game. D12 fouled out pretty early, in the third quarter.

    Nice to have Marcin Gortat back for situations like this.
