Magic close to signing Adonal Foyle

From the Sentinel BasketBlog on Wednesday from writer Tania Ganguili:

Update: He's signed. The above picture must be from practice because I'm pretty sure Foyle didn't touch the ball in a game last year. He takes the honorary Bo Outlaw seat at the end of the bench -- good looking bald guy who is liked in the locker room and not likely to see the court at all.

The Magic are working out a deal to bring back center Adonal Foyle, who became a free agent at the end of the season.

Foyle's agent Lon Babby told Josh Robbins they're moving towards an agreement and Magic GM Otis Smith told me it should be done pretty soon.

"It's not a hard deal to negotiate," Smith said.

Smith said this pretty much fills up all the team's needs, though last week Coach Stan Van Gundy said they might pick up someone on a non-guaranteed contract for training camp.

Foyle, 34, began last season with the Magic, but was traded to the Grizzlies in part of the deal that got Orlando Rafer Alston. Foyle later returned after the Grizzlies released him.

Foyle will be the team's third center behind Dwight Howard and Marcin Gortat.

    Good evening,
My name is Richie Denis, I’m the director of business development at MVN.com.

I found your blog in a google search. I was wondering if perhaps you’d be interesting in establishing your blog at MVN.

We’d love to have a blog of your quality on the Most Valuable Network where we enjoy 40,000 page views daily.

There are a few different options:

    1. You can write for one of MVN.com’s blog and promote your current blog through this site. All that we ask is that you post to MVN atleast once a week.
    2. You can move your blog over to the Most Valuable Network.com and establish yourself there.
    3. You can create your own blog on MVN and do a mixture of the two prior options!

Please let me know if you’re interested. As I said before we’d love to have you aboard! I can get you up and blogging right away.
    Suggestions are welcome.

    Sincerely,

    Richie Denis
    Director of Business Development
    Most Valuable Network

WeRDevos is the administrator of this blog, so that decision to have this blog join MVN.com would be up to him.

I don't know a whole heck of alot about blogs, except for this one.. What sort of blog is MVN.com?

MVN looks like a good blog, but our blog has a more specialized/narrow focus which is unique. I am in favor of placing links to our blog on cooperating blogs. I don't think any of the three options offered aligns with such intention.

MVN.com is a network of blogs. Check it out at www.mvn.com. MVN stands for the Most Valuable Network. Like I said before we get over a million page views each month and growing. We're looking for a high quality Orlando Magic blog to move over to our network. We currently have a high demand for Magic coverage and we're not able to satisfy this demand without a blog like yours. The Magic are coming off the finals defeat and some nice off season moves so our NBA readers are looking for as much content as possible. It'd be great to have you guys aboard. Is there a way for me to contact Werdevos? Also in terms of linking up to MVN we charge for each link depending on location. The only exception would be if you were to post your content we could place a link in your article back to the original source. We could also place a link on the Orland Magic community page (if you were to contribute content to our site frequently) feel free to shoot me an e-mail at rdenis@mvn.com for more information. Thanks guys.

I'm ok with it if you guys are, but I'll need to share some admin duties with others because of my travel schedule and other activities.

Would this mean we could try and get Matt a press pass to go interview Otis?

WeRDevos, I would be happy to help you out with some of the administration stuff that you wouldn't be able to do because of your schedule.

As far as I know, two other blogs have links to us on their blogroll... Third Quarter Collapse and Dwight Howard's Blog.

MVN.com gets over a million page views each month, so a lot more people could see how brilliant we all are here!

Adonal Foyle played in 10 games last season; nine with the Magic and one with Memphis, scoring a grand total of 17 points in those 10 games.

He actually had a season high of 10 points, along with 9 rebounds, at Milwaukee on April 13th.

He saw brief action against Boston in two playoff games, playing a combined total of four minutes with a rebound to his credit.
