Magic play first road game at Memphis tonight
The Magic will be trying to come back after a woeful performance Wednesday night at home against Atlanta.
Jameer Nelson, Rashard Lewis, and Hedo Turkoglu all had game stats against the Hawks that were well below their per game average last year.
Magic will need to shoot better, move the ball around better, crash the boards better, cut down on the turnovers, and get a much better effort from the bench against the Grizzlies.
Former Magic PF Darko Milicic is beginning his second season with Memphis. If his first game this season against Houston is any indication, Milicic will continue to struggle with inconsistency much as he has his whole career. He finished with just two points and two rebounds in 17 minutes as the starting PF Wednesday against the Rockets.

The Magic are 6 1/2 point favorites.

Let's all hope the Magic have learned their lesson from what happened on Wednesday against the Hawks and they will play like we know they are capable of playing.
I'm looking for Nelson and Lewis to have big nights after their sub-par efforts against the Hawks.
Howard has had some big games in the past against the Grizzlies; hopefully, that'll continue.
Hopefully, Darko won't go off against his old team. I really thought he would come into his own with Memphis after showing very good potential at times in his year and a half with the Magic, but he has regressed since leaving the Magic and signing with Memphis.

I think much of the same, hopefully the guys will be focused and ready to go. If last year was any indication,we were a much better road team early in the season so maybe a game on the road is just what we need to turn on the business attitude and us against the world style of play. I wanna see effort more than anything from the jump. 3 keys tonight. (1)Obviously effort, nuff said. (2)Shot selection. I can remember plenty of times throughout the game against the hawks that the magic seem to get bad shots at the basket, then to boot they really couldnt hit any of the open one's they got. Lets hope that the open one's start going in and the tough one's become easier with better choices with the ball/execution within the offense. (3)Rebound. We wound up running to many offensive sets and never had a chance to use our defense to fuel our offense,if you play good defense and rebound the ball your running game becomes better and SVG doesnt have to call sets the players can just play the game which is the way he likes to coach.

Definetly agree with the two blogs made earlier. Im looking forward to seeing our explosive offense which the Magic did not display at all on wednesday night and like i mentioned earlier i am looking forward to taking a look at memphis, they are in the middle of a rebuilding phase but are beginning to put together a great core of solid NBA talent with the likes of Gay, Mayo and Conley Jr.

Yeah, Memphis does have some good young talent, but they are probably a year or two away from contending for the playoffs in the tough Western Conference.
