Magic/Heat preview

The Magic (19-11, 13-5 road) will try to win consecutive games for the first time since DEC 2nd-3rd as they take on the struggling Heat (8-21, 4-9 home) in MIA FRI night. The Heat is coming off a 96-85 loss at PHI WED night, with Dwyane Wade scoring 27 pts. MIA has scored under 90 pts two consecutive games.

The probable starting lineup for MIA:

G... Dwyane Wade (24.3 ppg, 6.7 asts)
G... Ricky Davis (14.9 ppg)
F... Dorell Wright (7.0 ppg)
F... Udonis Haslem (13.1 ppg, 9.4 rebs)
C... Shaquille O'Neal (14.0 ppg, 7.8 rebs)

Top reserves: Daequan Cook (8.8 ppg); Jason Williams (8.7 ppg, 5.4 asts); Chris Quinn (4.9 ppg)

MIA is averaging 94.0 ppg, while allowing 98.8 ppg; ORL is averaging 103.1 ppg while allowing 99.6 ppg.

O'Neal (hip) and Williams (knee) are questionable for tonight. The Magic's JNelson had back spasms yesterday but is probable for the game. The Magic are 3 1/2 pt favorites (www.pinnaclesports.com) to win their sixth straight game over the Heat the last two seasons.

Well the first of a back to back for the magic. Miami is probably next to chicago one of the biggest disappointments in the league, but has the manpower to put a whole lot of points on the board with wade, davis and shaq. Last weeks injury to mourning really hurt the heat inside due to shaq's age he needs a solid backup and without zo they do not have that. Hopefully our magic will exploit that issue inside with howard and hedo probably taking haslem off the dribble, if you take haslem off the dribble you will score just ask paul pierce and antwan jamison!!!!

Once again im looking at SVG and what changes he brings to the rotation tonight and how he goes about keeping legs fresh for back to back division games. Obviously augustine should see some solid minutes tonight behind lewis, howard or turk as the same goes for arroyo behind jnelson.

Ricky Davis scored a whole lot against the magic in late november at home so im going to be looking at Bogans and how he defends davis off the ball! And last but not least im looking at my boy Mr. Lewis and hoping that he shows up and keeps up with what he did last game after all, those are the type of numbers we wanted when we brought him to orlando for isnt it??

Like mike said, O'neal and williams are probable and riley has been saying that the rookie cook is beginning to look like a starter after hitting some big shots in a home win against utah last week and giving a solid effort against cleveland on christmas day. The magic have to win these so called "gimme games" to win the division.

Even though the Heat have been struggling, I'm sure the Heat will put up a decent effort tonight, considering that this will be SVG's first visit to MIA as an opposing coach, and Riley will have MIA ready.

As long as the Magic don't take this game lightly and come ready to play, I expect a Magic win. The Heat have really been having a tough time offensively, so that should make things easier for the Magic's struggling defense.

The Miami Heat suck. They are just as bad as the Knicks and Bulls, if not worse because they are a team that's crippled with Shaq's contract. To lose to this team would be an embarrassment.

With that said, if the Magic show up with no energy and play little defense they could find themselves in a close game. And that's the last thing you want when you're playing against a chump like Wade who is going to try to live on the free throw line.

The Magic should win this game running away, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being close. It all depends on who shows up, Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hide.

    Magic by 9.

I'm sooooo pissed this game isn't on local Orlando TV.

    I can't believe this isn't fixed yet.

Yeah Chuck...its BS... All I can say is change to satellite, or find a local bar where you can watch the game (Gators, Ale House, Bennigans, Etc...).

Dish Network has treated me pretty well.
