Mavericks/Magic preview

The Magic (23-19, 14-7 home, 5th East) will do battle against the team with the NBA's best record, DAL (34-8, 15-5 road, 1st West). The Mavericks are on an incredible roll... 7 wins in a row, 20 wins in their last 21 games, and 9 wins in their last 10 road games. They are coming off a 99-93 win at MIA on SUN, with Josh Howard scoring 25 pts, Jerry Stackhouse 23 pts, and Dirk Nowitzki 22 pts.

DAL is led by F Nowitzki, averaging 24.9 ppg on 50% shooting and 9.5 rebs; G/F Josh Howard 19.8 ppg, 7.2 rebs; G Jason Terry 15.8 ppg, 5.3 asts; G/F Jerry Stackhouse 10.8 ppg; and G Devin Harris 10.5 ppg. DAL averages 99.7 ppg while allowing 92.6 ppg; the Magic average 93.5 ppg while allowing 92.4 ppg.

The Magic have a 14-3 home record against DAL, and have beaten them the last 2 times in ORL, including a 108-99 win last March. DHoward will be playing in his 207th consecutive game tonight for the Magic, tying Darrell Armstrong's team record. DAL is favored by 5 1/2 pts (www.pinnaclesports.com).

    If the magic can jump on dallas early and keep them playing catch-up,the magic have a good shot at winning in the fourth quarter.If dallas gets off to a good start,like a 30pt first quarter,you can forget the magic winning a game playing catch-up.
