Magic/Cavs preview

The Magic (22-19, 8-12 road, 6th East) try to break their 5 game losing streak MON night against CLE (24-16, 15-3 home, 2nd East). CLE is coming off a 106-104 OT win at GS SAT. The Cavs trailed by 18 pts at the half of that game. LeBron James led with 32 pts. CLE finished their 7 game road trip at 3-4.

CLE is led by James, averaging 27.1 ppg and 6.8 rebs; Larry Hughes 14.6 ppg; C Zydrunas Ilgauskas 12.1 ppg, 8.2 rebs; former Magic F Drew Gooden 11.6 ppg, 8.6 rebs. CLE averages 95.2 ppg, while allowing 93.5 ppg. The Magic average 93.6 ppg, while allowing 92.7 ppg.

The Magic have lost 8 of their last 9 road games, and 6 games in a row at CLE. The Cavs may be a bit sluggish with this being their first home game after a long road trip. GHill is expected to play for the Magic; will J.J. Redick see meaningful playing time after an impressive game against NJ? CLE is a 5 pt favorite (www.pinnaclesports.com).

I dont know why,but i feel like the magic have a chance,if dwight and grant can bounce back and contribute, plus we get travis and JJ into the rotation, this is a team we could outscore.

Otis Smith needs to understand something, hes done a great job to revamp the team but now that there is the opportunity to make some noise and get somewhere he cant be hesistant and not make a move. I believe he should trade for a Corey maggette type a good scorer who isnt too selfish. If you haven't noticed the Magic play great defense yet they struggle to score. Otis Smith can't hold back now after being so active.

If the Magic want to make any real noise this year they do need to make a deal. Maggette was a name I threw out there a few weeks ago. He's a great offensive player. He plays a position we need a scorer in. And we could probably pick him up for very little seeing that the Clippers have been shopping him, and he doesn't make huge dollars. Good idea "Anonymous"; I know it won't happen, but a Corey Maggette type is pretty much what the Magic needs.
