Sentinel Omits History

Shaquille O'Neal: 10 years since he split - Orlando Sentinel : Orlando Magic Shaquille O'Neal: 10 years since he split - Orlando Sentinel : Orlando Magic

The Orlando Sentinel rehashes 10 years of misery since Shaq quit on Orlando. Oddly enough, they fail to mention the poll they ran asking if Shaq was worth it, nor their active role in running Penny out of town.

On the last two days in soon to be history; the Orlando Sentinel has wasted space once again by re-writing an article that has been beaten into the ground far to many times for the past 10 years. I guess there is no news out there, so someone thought they'd be "clever and fill space". I usually like the Sentinel, but if they are going to talk about something that happened 10 years ago, they need to reference the "new Shaq" in Dwight Howard and how the Magic have a chance to turn it all around RIGHT NOW. The Magic have a future, the only future Shaq has, is out of the league, and in the Hall Of Fame.

On the original post: A related Sentinel article, published that same day, mentions the Shaq poll.

Here is a link to the article posted on the same day that "anonymous" is talking about. For me, it only makes it worst that the Sentinel actually took the time to post two articles relating to Shaq when the franchises future looks so bright. Brian Schmitz is the dumbass of the day.

The poll was one of the most shameful acts in the history of local papers. It was worded to elicit the response it got. The fact that the Magic never complained too much about it kind of hints the Magic were in on it to let him get away rather than pay him.

I would imagine a guy like Mark Cuban would have permanently taken away the Sentinels press passes.

If your going to do a stupid, unscientific poll, at least word it correctly: "Do you want Shaq to leave and make Orlando into a hopeless national sports backwater, or should the Magic pay him what he wants?"

Sports sections help sell papers. What the Magic did was damage their own self over the years. Their arrogance and stupidity is all over that rag.
