Certainly a well-deserved honor for Coach Van Gundy. It looked like for a while that Mike Woodson of the Hawks would be the winner, but with their sudden slump and the Magic taking over the top spot in the East, there was no other choice but SVG.
In each of the Magic's 4 losses, Van Gundy took his share of the blame and vowed the Magic would play better defense in future games, which, of course, they have.
After a meeting with Dwight Howard, he also promised he would be more positive with the team.
His flexibility when it comes to different issues is refreshing and welcome. What a difference between SVG and former Magic coach Brian Hill, who was so stubborn and inflexible.

Easy for me! Best record in november, most wins, injuries, what else do you need. SVG has done the most with the least if u factor in the injuries. The hawks coach would have been a good choice also, who thought they would be THIS good.
