The ABC Finals Telecast Will Be Biased

But in a good way.

Miami Heat | Sun-Sentinel Blogs: All Van Gundy all the time

Jeff Van Gundy is part of the 3 man team broadcasting the Finals for ABC.

Jeff discussing the Magic:
"If they're fortunate enough to win the championship, I may have my bottle of champagne I pour over myself and Mark and Mike. So, I definitely want 'em to win, there's no doubt. But during the games, I'm going to try to be as objective as possible."
On Stan:
"Well, I mean, obviously, he's a great, great coach. You don't make it to where he's made it and won as much as he's won without being really elite in your field. And so, he's done a great, great job and he's got a team that is playing well. Whether it's good enough to beat the heavily favored Laker team, that's what the games are for. We'll see how it goes. But I couldn't be prouder. We're really proud of him and really humbled by the opportunity he has."

This beats the hell out of the TNT guys dreaming about hanging out at LeBron's house watching Kobe play during the last two minutes of game 3.

It'll be interesting to see just how objective Jeff Van Gundy will be on the broadcasts, with him admitting he wants Orlando to win.

Kobe will take another ring from the faker Dwight Howard, Lakers in 4! The Zen master will outcoach Stan Van G anyday of the week, he is a choker.

I agree that the magic wont be able to matchup wit the frontline of the Lakers, they will dominate the points in the paint with Bynum, Gasol and Odom. Bottomline is that the Magic almost lost to the Celtics without Kevin Garnett, if thats the case, then Lakers in 4 or 5.

Go to deadspin.com, there is a post about how all the bandwagon fans are jumping on now that Magic is in the finals-typical Florida sports fans. You all are bandwagon fans, who only pay attention to teams when they are in the Finals or the world series.

    Pathetic, you should be embarassed.

The state of florida is a joke, just like when the Devil Rays made the series, they avg like 5000 people a game, once the playoffs came around it was packed, must be easy to jump on the bandwagon, as all Florida sports fans do once the playoffs roll around.

Yes, it really sucks here in Orlando with our low taxes, an Ocean, a Gulf, 10,000 lakes, plus championship professional and college sports teams all within a two hour drive. Not to mention a Golf Course on every corner.

Oh my god, an anonymous poster typed that Florida is bad. What will I do with my life now!

And Deadspin doesn't like us either??? Like they are so respectable! All the Magic fans did this year was sell 98% of its tickets and vote for a ONE BILLION DOLLAR sports and entertainment complex that includes a brand new stadium.

But don't let facts get in the way. I'm sure you are all experts on are area since you parents took you to Disney World when you were a toddler. Must suck to be you.

Wow, lots of Magic and Florida haters are out there!

Stan Van Gundy has coached the Magic past the Celtics and the heavily favored Cavaliers into the NBA Finals... not bad for a choker and a coach who panics!

Sure, there are bandwagon fans who have jumped on during the Magic's playoff run; they are welcome to cheer for the team; but I know there are lots of dedicated Magic fans who have followed the Magic through the bad times (been plenty of those) and now the good times.

I know I can speak for myself and the regular contributors on here in saying that we are die-hard Magic fans; this blog wasn't just created for the playoffs; it has been in existence since January of 2006!

They are probably all from the same person. Notice how the 3rd and 4th are only 1 minute apart?
