Former Magic coach Chuck Daly passes away
Chuck Daly, best-known for coaching the Detroit Pistons to two championships and coaching the Original Dream Team to the Olympic Gold Medal in 1992, passed away Saturday due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 78.
Daly spent his final two years in coaching with the Magic in 1997-'98 and the strike-shortened 1998-'99 season. The Magic finished 41-41 in '97-'98, just missing the playoffs, and finished 33-17 during the '98-'99 season, and were beaten by Philadelphia 3 games to 1 in the first round of the playoffs.
