I said in my pre-game preview the Magic would have to have big games from Howard, Lewis, and Turkoglu to have a chance in this one; well, Howard and Lewis did their part but Turk had an awful night not even scoring in double figures and making just 3 of 15 FGs. If he scores his average, the Magic probably wind up winning the game.
The Magic certainly did have a tough time defensively, not only with Iverson and Anthony, but allowing journeyman Anthony Carter a career game tying high of 21 pts.
Some +/- numbers for the game... Dooling +8, Evans 0... Nelson and Turkoglu both -13, Lewis -10, Howard -9.
I'll give credit to Dooling for being the only Magic player to have a positive +/- rating for the game, plus the long 3 to end the first half.
Nelson had a really good AST/TO ratio of 8/1, but didn't do well defensively as indicated by his +/- of -13, but the same could be said of the whole team, as 7 of the 9 players who played had a minus rating.
SVG used 5 guards, with 4 of them scoring in double figures, which helped the Magic bench to a 10 pt advantage over the DEN bench, but the Magic starters were outscored 95-75.
Good effort by the guys for three quarters against the Nuggets, they just couldn't sustain it long enough for the 4th qtr.

Two big turn-overs down the stretch by keith and hedo really did us in. The effort was there so its just a tough loss where we werent as sharp as we couldve been down the stretch. With denver playing so small with carter and iverson, wouldnt it have been a good night to give JJ some minutes?
