Dear Otis

Hello Otis,

Do you know what that picture to the left represents?

It's your career. In the next couple of years you will either become known as the guy who put the pieces around Dwight and succeeded, or just another failure who settled for mediocrity plus one star. Trust us, we know all about the latter as we watched (or stopped paying attention) to teams that floundered and wasted the talents of Penny & T-Mac.

What do you want to be Otis?

We want you to succeed. Dwight Howard's time, and your time, is right now in 2007.

We are desperate for you to succeed. So please stop talking about how happy you are with your 24-22 team and go out and kick some ass. This team needs depth at the bigs and a world class shooter.

And hey! It sure was a big surprise that Grant Hill got injured. Maybe now is the time to trade his broken down contract for the help we need. Memphis could sure use the cap room and Pau Gasol wants out, probably the same with Seattle and Ray Allen. Just a thought if, you know, you're worried about your legacy here in Orlando.

Oh, and while were on the subject of improving things around here... Isn't it time for Darko to start?

I agree 100% percent with your letter to Otis Smith.

Changes need to be made with the roster and the time is now. Its no secret up here that Seattle wants to clear its roster. Hill for Allen or Rashard Lewis would be very arractive for the Sonics.

    Very well-said WeRDevos.

However, I highly doubt that Smith will trade Grant Hill. I hope he's working on other ways of tweaking the roster by the trade deadline.

If Keith Bogans, as a starter, and J.J. Redick off the bench, can prove in the next few weeks that they can play well at SG, the pressure will be a lot less for Otis to make a trade regarding that position.

I suggest that you send the open letter to the organization, as well. I bid you that he is not gonna raise a finger since he is more interested in saving his ass than kicking ass.

Hell ya! And do you know what that means to him; nothing.

I can give you Otis's response; "he is an amazing young man."

And yes, he really did say that...
